Our SEG Esports clients delivered outstanding performances at the Esports World Cup, the premier esports event of the year, held in over 8 weeks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Kiro was our top performer in the Fortnite tournament, reaching the semifinals, securing a top 4 finish and earning his team $80,000 in prize money. In Overwatch, Head Coach Cas van Andel achieved an impressive second place, bringing in $160,000 for his team, Toronto Ultra.
In total, eleven SEG clients participated in the World Cup. In Fortnite, our players included Kiro (Heroic), Trexer, Cheatiin, Kiduoo, and Fray (Berlin International Gaming), T3eny (Team Falcons), Kalgamer and Kyry (free agent/mixed squad), and Frosty (W7m Esports). Along with Kiro, T3eny also had a strong showing, making it to the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, the remaining players didn’t advance beyond the group stage.
In Overwatch, we had two representatives: Casores (Toronto Ultra), who finished second, and Seeker (NTMR), who was eliminated in the group stage.
The event drew several high-profile celebrities, with Neymar notably participating in show matches for Counter-Strike 2, Rocket League, and Tekken 8. Cristiano Ronaldo also made an appearance, showing his support for the event and Team Falcons.
