Rens van Eijden continues his career at SEG!

Van Eijden started as a pupil at RKSV Margriet in Oss, after which he followed the youth academy at PSV from 12 until 18 years old.  After playing at Willem II for 1 year, he signed a contract at N.E.C. in 2009, where he would play for 7 years. After two years at AZ, he came back in 2018 to once again play for his own N.E.C. In total, with the Dutch youth selections included, he played almost 400 matches in professional football. From 2018 until now, Van Eijden has been and is part of the Central Players Council (Centrale Spelersraad), which gives advice and right of consent about the players’ position in paid football. He is also in the participants’ council of the CFK.  

Van Eijden is a real teamplayer, and a tactical and trustworthy connector. Because of his strong communication, he makes sure everyone feels at ease with him, and that is exactly what he finds important: the player needs to feel that his door is always open. Mutual trust and long-term relationships are necessary to get the maximum out of a player; the person behind the player is not always seen. This is what makes van Eijden distinctive, as here lies his focus.  

During his career, he has been team captain for over 10 years; a role in which he always tried to keep all side matters away from the team, so that each individual could maximally focus on his own development and performance.  

And now, Van Eijden chooses SEG, which is not a very big surprise! Kees Ploegsma and Boy Kuijpers have happily been his agents for almost 20 years. He is hoping to learn lots from the expertise of the company, the experienced agents and the many internal trainings that are given. Van Eijden’s knowledge and experience as a football player and the know-how within the organization will make sure that new players can only reach the top.
