Youri Baas extends at Ajax until 2028

Youri Baas was under contract with Ajax until mid-2026. The football club calls the defender 'a club man' and is keen on keeping him in Amsterdam for a longer period.

According to technical director Alex Kroes, the defender is making ‘tremendous progress.’ “He proves his value every week in the heart of the defence. Youri is an excellent defender, has great insight and a good pass. We expect him to develop further in the coming years.”

Baas has been playing at Ajax since 2018. The left-footed player made his debut in the first team on 28 August 2022 during the league match FC Utrecht - Ajax (0-2).

Through sheer hard work, he has developed remarkably across various youth teams, with Jong Ajax, on loan and now in Ajax's first team.
