SEG finalises Højlund move to Napoli on deadline day

1 September 2025

SEG has successfully negotiated the transfer of Danish striker Rasmus Højlund, who joins SSC Napoli from Manchester United on loan with an option to buy. The deal was completed on transfer deadline day, 1 September.

The 22-year-old forward previously played for FC Copenhagen, Sturm Graz and Atalanta before moving to Old Trafford in 2023. At United he scored 26 goals in 95 appearances, winning the 2024 FA Cup after featuring in the final against Manchester City. Rasmus has also scored eight goals in 26 appearances for Denmark.

His return to Serie A brings Napoli a proven attacking threat as they push for domestic and European success. For SEG, the deal marks another high-profile transfer successfully negotiated at the highest level of international football.

SEG founder Kees Vos said: “Late in the window we started to explore the best opportunities for Rasmus and Napoli quickly stood out – sportively, but also in terms of attention and trust. Napoli coach Antonio Conte and sporting director Giovanni Manna were eager to bring him in, and with Napoli being champions of Italy and playing in the Champions League, it became a very attractive move. The deal was structured as a loan with an option to buy, which will be triggered if Napoli qualify for the Champions League.”

“With the window closing, time pressure was high. I would like to sincerely thank the entire Højlund family, Manchester United, Napoli and our SEG colleagues for their professionalism and cooperation in making this deal happen. I want to highlight our Legal team in particular: together with lawyers Frederik Bruhn and Luca Tettamanti, they used their expertise and operated under immense pressure to get this transfer across the line.”
