SEG COMPLETES JAKA BIJOL DEAL

24 June 2025

With the summer transfer window only just underway, SEG has finalised another major move. Yesterday in Leeds, Slovenian central defender Jaka Bijol signed a five-year contract, tying him to Premier League side Leeds United until the summer of 2030.

The 26-year-old joins from Serie A club Udinese, following an outstanding season in Italy, where he made 37 appearances in all competitions and scored twice. Bijol has also stood out on the international stage, earning 63 caps for Slovenia since his debut at age 19 in 2018. He featured in every minute of Slovenia’s campaign at last summer’s European Championships, helping the team reach the Round of 16.

Jaka Bijol commented: “This is a big day for me and my family, and I’m happy to be here. This new challenge might be the biggest of my career so far, but I’m ready for it. I promise to give my all in every training session to be ready for the first game of the season—and take it from there.”

SEG founder Kees Vos added: “This transfer to Leeds United comes at the perfect time for Jaka. He had several options, but Leeds United is the best fit for his playing style and personality. A fantastic club with a rich history. The deal was made possible thanks to the teamwork of four SEG agents across Europe—showing the advantage of having a strong international agent network—along with the cooperative spirit of both Udinese and Leeds United. We look forward to seeing Jaka in action at Elland Road.”
