Kaden Groves extends at Alpecin

23 August 2024

SEG Cycling is thrilled to announce that Kaden Groves is staying with Alpecin-Deceuninck for another two years. The Australian sprint star is determined to continue performing at the highest level, and Alpecin-Deceuninck is the best team to keep fulfilling those dreams.

Kaden Groves said: “I can’t wait to continue my journey at Alpecin-Deceuninck for the next two years. I feel at home and perform at my highest level in this shirt. I feel confident in this environment knowing I have the best people supporting me on and off the road.”

“My goals match those of the team, of course I want to pursue my dream of winning stages in all three Grand Tours, but I also have high ambitions for the spring classics. I want to thank the team’s management for the trust they put in me. And I’d also like to thank the people from SEG Cycling for all the effort they put into this process. It’s great to have you on my side.”

SEG Cycling agent Bart van Haaren said: “Two years ago, Kaden’s move to Alpecin was a very deliberate choice. Alpecin is a team that focuses entirely on sprints and classics, backed up by highly professional support. This move has proven to be the right one over the past two years, with Kaden making significant strides and securing numerous impressive victories—including four stage wins and the points jersey in the Vuelta, as well as a stage win in the Giro.”

“Despite substantial interest from various teams and a lengthy process to finalise the deal, we’re pleased to have reached an agreement with Alpecin. Both financially and in terms of competitive opportunities and support, this is the right choice for Kaden in this stage of his career. We’re confident that he will be a key player in Alpecin’s strong spring classics squad, while also having the space to continue excelling in sprints. The future looks bright.”
