Kevin Strootman is taking up a new challenge by joining Olympique de Marseille. The Dutch midfielder has agreed on terms with the French historic club, leaving AS Roma five seasons after he arrived in Italy.
The 28-year-old is expected to become immediately a main engine in Marseille’s midfield. Besides aiming for a great season in the Ligue 1, the club also has ambitions in the UEFA Europa League.
Strootman is a regular presence in the Dutch national team, having played with the Oranje shirt 41 times and captained the team on 15 occasions.
