Fifteen new Fortnite talents have joined SEG Esports, with at least six set to compete in the 2024 Esports World Cup (EWC). This is the well-earned outcome of several months of diligent effort by SEG's Esports division. This strategic expansion has instantly positioned SEG as a dominant force within the Fortnite scene.
"Fortnite is buzzing with activity right now," says SEG Esports director Rowan Stroo. "New formats, better organised teams, more events, a growing fanbase and improved player compensation. These factors make it an opportune moment for SEG to dive into the Fortnite phenomenon. We're ready and eager to participate."
SEG’s new elite Fortnite players and content creators include Kiro and Kiduoo, Trexer, Cheatiin and Fray (team BIG CLAN, with Kiro on loan to Team Heroic), Nebs, IDrop and Krizzi (Team Heretics), T3eny (Team Falcons), Mappi (team GUILD Esports), Moneymaker and Fnajen (team Gaimin Gladiators), amongst others.
Six of these have recently qualified for the 2024 Esports World Cup: T3eny, Trexer, Kiduoo, Fray, Cheatiin, and Kiro. More may qualify in the coming weeks. Expectations are high, especially following T3eny and Team Falcons’ undefeated victory at the DreamHack Dallas Fortnite tournament last month.
The EWC 2024 will take place from 3 July to 28 August, with the Fortnite tournament scheduled for 8 to 11 August.
"Fortnite has indeed made significant strides," says SEG Esports agent Hennes Heijmans. "That’s why Rowan and I recently decided to include it in SEG’s esports division. Thanks to the hard work of Rowan, my colleague Arya and myself, we have surpassed our expectations, bringing over fifteen elite Fortnite players on board in just one month."
"The future looks promising. With new creative modes like Capture the Flag, we are heading in the right direction, especially with major players like ESL & Blast involved. At the upcoming Esports World Cup, Fortnite will be one of the marquee games with numerous content creators participating."
"My prediction for EWC? All our clients have been dedicated Fortnite players for years. It's fantastic that six of them have qualified for the EWC. I'm 99% certain that at least one of our players will win the tournament. I'm not saying who, but I’m confident it will be one of ours."
